Easter’s Gift
I am the one that hammered that spike
into your hand.
I am the one that nailed your feet so
you could not stand.
I helped mankind lift your cross and
put it into that hole.
As you cried out in pain, at that
time, it didn’t even bother my soul.
We stabbed a spear in your side and
blood and water ran down in plain sight.
Right after you had cried, “It is
finished” and gave up your fight.
You were put in a cave when you had
died.
I heard that three days later many
had seen you, I thought they had lied.
One day I was struggling and didn’t
know what to do.
I ran into a friend, one who had
claimed he had seen you.
I told him of my trials and
tribulations and he said there was a cure for that.
I said in desperation, “What is it?”
and we began to chat.
He explained to me all Christ had
accomplished by dying and rising again.
About how much he loved all mankind
and paid for their sin.
I was moved in my spirit and right
there and then received Jesus into my life.
I instantly felt the weight of my sin
taken away as God cut it out with his double-edged knife.
I now live with confidence and hope,
each day I am here.
For God has given me a supernatural
strength, and I have realized I have nothing to fear.
